Keeping it in the Family: Two Horizon Owners Purchase Their Next Horizon Yachts in a Perfectly-Timed Transaction

In a transaction for the record books, Horizon Yachts recently sold a brand new FD85 inventory yacht to a current owner — who had taken delivery of his E88 motor yacht in the summer of 2016. That E88 was then delivered to third-time Horizon owners, who were moving up from a V74. The deal, while unusual to say the least, was done in the true spirit of cooperation between Horizon Yachts and the owners, with all three parties working together to get the owners into their new yachts with ease.
The owners of the 2016 Horizon E88 “Christine” had their eye on the spacious layout and beautiful styling of the new Horizon FD85. At the same time, the owners of the 2010 Horizon V74 “Satori” were ready to make the move into a bigger yacht and felt that an E88 would perfectly suit their cruising lifestyle. So, “Satori’s” owners traded her in for the E88 “Christine”, whose owners took delivery of the new FD85 Horizon had in inventory. Horizon now has a beautifully maintained V74 motor yacht available for sale and all parties were satisfied with the transaction.

The new FD85 – which has also been coined “Christine” – debuted to the U.S. market at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale Int’l Boat Show and has been celebrated worldwide for her striking Cor D. Rover exterior design and the voluminous 23’3” beam. The extensive al fresco entertaining spaces, a favorite of her new owners, and floor-to-ceiling windows in the main salon are among her many impressive features, as are her on-deck Master stateroom and four guest cabins below deck. Thanks to a High Performance Piercing Bow (HPPB) and fast displacement hull form, the FD85 boasts an impressive and stable ride as well as efficient cruising speeds between 10 and 16 knots. The new owners plan to spend the rest of the winter season on “Christine” cruising in Florida and will travel north for the summer.
The third Horizon to be named “Satori”, the E88 will enjoy an active lifestyle nearly year-round along the East Coast with her new owners. Avid boaters, the owners like to cruise in the Bahamas, Cuba, and up to Maine in the summer months. A growing extended family drew these active owners up from their first 58-foot Horizon to their second V74, and now the new E88.
