Horizon Launches New E62 Open Bridge Motoryacht for U.S. Owners

Just after celebrating the New Year, Horizon launched a new E62 open bridge motoryacht for her U.S. owners in California. The Horizon E62 model has seen much success throughout the years within the global market -- more recently gaining popularity in Australia -- with first-time owners or owner-operators looking for a luxury yacht of manageable size.
After considering several other brands, the experienced owners decided Horizon was the best choice and placed an order for their E62 in late 2014; they worked with the yard throughout the build to implement custom features that suited their cruising style. This E62 has been equipped with a Seakeeper M9 gyro stabilization system for added comfort when underway, and the feature was immediately put to the test with great results during her sea trials in Taiwan. Twin CAT C18 1150HP diesel engines power the E62 to a maximum speed of 29 knots.
As the owner plans to operate the yacht himself, he commissioned a second helm chair for his wife to accompany him on the flybridge. U-shaped sofas situated to either side of the helm station provide additional seating and add to the attractiveness of the space. The hardtop also includes a folding ladder to enable easy access of the navigation equipment for maintenance.
Within the interior, which incorporates high-gloss walnut finishes and granite surfaces, the owners specified a three-stateroom layout to accommodate family and friends. An L-shaped sofa in the salon and a large dining table for six in the galley seat the full complement of guests comfortably. Special attention was paid to the lighting, which is easily adjusted from full power to romantic with a touch of a dimmer. The owners also requested that extra outlets and USB ports be installed throughout to allow for smart phone charging or laptop use virtually anywhere onboard.
Upon taking delivery of their new yacht, the owners remarked that they were particularly impressed with the craftsmanship and quality of the new E62 and noted their appreciation for Horizon’s willingness to implement these new features, which will serve to enhance their cruising experiences for many years.
