Horizon’s Premier Maintenance and Refit Center Attracts Megayachts Worldwide

Situated in Kaohsiung’s Qijin District, the Horizon Refit and Maintenance Center has had its bays full of late, performing refits, maintenance and other services on megayachts from around the world. Some of the vessels, which range from 120 to 163 feet in length, are repeat customers, but most are newcomers.
The new yachts have been drawn to the Horizon Refit Center for a variety of reasons, including Horizon’s outstanding reputation of technical strength – a result of over 30 years of experiencing building more than 820 motoryachts, of which 205 units are over 80ft and 140 are certified Class yachts built to DNV, BV, CE or LR classification. A talented naval architecture team, state-of-the-art facilities and a convenient marina location further underscore the Refit Center’s appeal.
The Horizon Refit Center accompanies the Horizon Group’s yacht building facilities and has the capacity to accommodate 100ft-plus (30m+) yachts. Thanks to its excellent geographical location on the Kaohsiung Harbor, the Refit Center encompasses 656ft (200m) of waterfront property and is equipped with a 200ft (60m) x 45ft (14m) floating dry dock with 500-ton lifting capacity. This gives the Refit Center a logistical advantage for performing sea trials, commissioning, loading and delivering. The 258,330sqft marina can accommodate ten 160ft-plus yachts, five of which can be stored under cover during construction.
In the five short years since the Refit Center began operations, Horizon has provided maintenance, repair, and refit services for 25 yachts from around the world, including a 227ft megayacht. Owners of larger yachts have taken notice of the facility, with one Russian–owned yacht undergoing maintenance service seven times.
